Why can’t my EV be towed on its wheels?
Do not assume towing on the road wheels is permitted. Recovery instructions vary by model and condition. Tell the operator the exact vehicle and fault so the loading and transport method can be assessed against the manufacturer instructions.
Can you recover an EV with a flat traction battery?
You can request recovery to a suitable destination, such as a charge point or garage. Disclose the flat battery, locked wheels, missing keys and any damage. Loading and transport depend on assessment, access and suitable equipment; a flat battery does not guarantee the vehicle can be moved without additional preparation.
Do you cover plug-in hybrids too?
You can request recovery for a plug-in or self-charging hybrid. Provide the model and condition so the operator can assess suitable handling under the manufacturer instructions. Recovery is not risk-free, and the method must suit the particular vehicle.
